Twilight is expected to reach even higher numbers in 2009!

Last week we had a Twilight Movie Soundtrack giveaway and although i didn’t promote it heavily, we did have a good deal of entries for such a quick giveaway. Yesterday was the last day to enter to win, and today we have a winner.

The studio is trying to find a replacement as Taylor technically doesn’t fit the size of the character in New Moon. In the sequel to Twilight, Jacob is supposed to be large and in charge, and the real life Taylor is abit on the shorter side.

But fans want Taylor. And only Taylor will do. A replacement would not bode well with the millions of Twilight fans from around the globe. Even his co stars, like Ashley Greene (who plays Alice) are on the support bandwagon and want him to stay.

There is a petition on the web to keep Taylor as Jacob in the sequel, if you want to support Taylor Lautner to reprise his role, speak your peace here.

It’s official the sequel to Twilight has a new director and his name is Chris Weitz. As previously noted, Catherine Hardwicke is out. It’s a crying shame she was not able to continue what will most likely be a major movie franchise success - ala Harry Potter.

But onward we go and now it is Chris Weitz who is at the helm, the one who will bring us the sequel New Moon. The sequel to Twilight begins shooting in March 2009 with a possible release date in late 2009 or early 2010.

Summit Entertainment announced today that filmmaker Chris Weitz has been hired to direct the second film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise. The film, NEW MOON, is based on the second book in author Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production.

New Moon brings us further into the developing friendship between Bella Swan and Jacob Black. A great follow up story unfolds between Edward, Bella, and Jacob in New Moon. But i won’t give away any juicy details. Read the book or wait for the movie.
